1979
Following in Walter Ono’s footsteps, it was another Brazilian artistic director who came up with the 1979 poster. Marco Antonio Batan had a successful career in both visual communication and education in Brazil, and his design evokes the wonderful world of cartoons and surrealism, with a touch of South American magical realism. The piano, with its keys rising up rhythmically like fingers, was drawn by Patrick Colelough, the colorful butterfly and the title lettering by Bruno Gaeng.
