2004

Nice move for the festival in 2004, which enlisted the services of Burton Morris. It is little known, but this man defined the artistic line of the iconic series of the decade, the sitcom Friends. He designed the Central Perk logo with its two steaming coffee cups, the café where the group of friends and roommates hang out. Bright colours, strong contours, subjects drawn from pop culture, his art is as thunderous as the fat jazzman with his trumpet which illustrates his poster with a formidable graphic efficiency. The same year, Burton Morris exhibited his vision of sport at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, in thirty paintings that revisited the symbols of Olympism, from the rings to the dove and the ancient discobolus.
