2007
Conceived as a series of layers and superimposed shapes and countershapes, each of which resonates with a different atmosphere, the poster by Icelandic graphic designer Katrín Ólina Pétursdóttir conveys the idea of a festival where the unexpected is to be found in every nook and cranny. The Scandinavian has constellated her image of small musical creatures that playfully combine mythological and cartoon-like characteristics. Thanks to the product design training of the author, who worked in the studios of Philippe Starck and Ross Lovegrove, and to the many replicable details of the poster, the Montreux Jazz Festival was able to expand its range of merchandising products, offering the public bags, a Moleskine diary and even baseball caps with motifs taken from the poster.
