The Montreux Jazz Café was born from the passion of Claude Nobs for music and gastronomy. The founder of the Festival, trained as a chef, conceived the Café as a welcoming space, where food and music could meet in a way never seen before. When he cooked for his artist friends, Claude Nobs always added a secret ingredient: the most emblematic concerts of the Festival projected in the dining room.Conceived as the embassies of the Festival, the Montreux Jazz Café perpetuates Claude Nobs’ secret recipe all over the world, thanks to exclusive access to the Festival’s audiovisual archives broadcast in the Montreux Jazz Café, part of UNESCO’s “Memory of the World” programme.
